Injector Duty Cycle Bench Estimate
Convert a bench pulse train into a simple on-time fraction and static-flow-scaled volume estimate.
Method and units
Duty cycle = pulse width (ms) × pulses per minute ÷ 600. Estimated delivered volume per minute = entered static flow × duty fraction. This is a bench arithmetic estimate only.
Worked example
A 4 ms pulse repeated 3,000 times/minute gives 20% on-time. At an entered 250 cc/min static flow, proportional estimated delivery is 50 cc/min.
Supported inputs and interpretation
Pulse width 0.01–100 ms; frequency 0–100,000 pulses/min; static flow 0.1–5,000 cc/min; reject combinations over 100% duty. Results are rounded for display only; internal calculations retain full JavaScript precision. Entered measurements and assumptions determine the answer.
References and limitations
The equations here use the stated unit conversions and geometric or accounting relationships; no empirical vehicle limits or manufacturer presets are supplied.
For off-road arithmetic/bench estimation, not engine tuning or a fuel-system recommendation. It ignores voltage, pressure differential, dead time, spray, fluid properties and nonlinear behavior. Do not infer safe fueling, power or emissions compliance; use qualified testing and manufacturer data.
