Dehydrator Final Weight Calculator
Estimate final mass and water removal from starting mass and measured initial and chosen final moisture fractions.
How to use this estimate
This is a conservation-of-dry-solids estimate based on wet-basis moisture fractions. It is not a validated drying endpoint, storage-life test, or food-safety determination. Use a reliable measurement and food-specific processing guidance; moisture can be uneven and mass loss may include volatile compounds besides water.
Method
Dry solids = starting mass × (1 - initial moisture fraction). Estimated final mass = dry solids / (1 - target moisture fraction); modeled water removed = starting mass - final mass. Target moisture at or above 100% is unsupported.
Worked example
Starting with 1,000 g at 85% moisture and entering a 15% final moisture gives 150 g dry solids, 176.47 g estimated final mass, and 823.53 g modeled mass loss.
Assumptions and supported inputs
Use measured dimensions and the listed field ranges. Values outside those bounds, missing entries, non-finite numbers, and fractional counts where a whole number is required are rejected. Displayed results are rounded to two decimal places; internal calculations retain full precision. This is a planning estimate, not a substitute for an on-site layout, product instructions, or a qualified trade decision where applicable.
