API Quota Pacing Calculator
Convert remaining quota and time into a safe average pace.
Method and input definitions
Remaining quota = limit − requests already used. Average pace = remaining requests ÷ minutes to reset. The result is a planning average, not a per-second burst limit.
Worked example
A 10,000-request window with 4,000 used and 30 minutes remaining allows an average pace of 6,000 ÷ 30 = 200 requests/minute, or 3.33 requests/second.
Assumptions and limits
The entered limit and reset deadline must refer to the same quota window. Provider burst caps, endpoint-specific limits, and concurrent clients may require a lower pace.
Inputs are bounded to finite values shown in the form. Displayed results are rounded for readability (probability percentages and proportion fractions to four, other measures to two decimal places); whole-count outputs remain exact. A changed field clears a prior result so an outdated estimate is not presented as current.
