Print Queue Throughput Planner
Estimate when a shared print queue will finish.
Method and input definitions
Total pages = jobs × pages per job. Queue minutes = total pages ÷ rated pages per minute + jobs × setup minutes. This serial estimate treats the printer as one device and applies setup to each job.
Worked example
Twelve jobs of 20 pages on a 40-page/minute printer with 2 minutes of setup per job take 12 × 20 ÷ 40 + 12 × 2 = 30 minutes.
Assumptions and limits
Rated speed is treated as sustained throughput; complex color, finishing, paper changes, and pauses can increase elapsed time.
Inputs are bounded to finite values shown in the form. Displayed results are rounded for readability (probability percentages and proportion fractions to four, other measures to two decimal places); whole-count outputs remain exact. A changed field clears a prior result so an outdated estimate is not presented as current.
