Warehouse Picking Route Duration Calculator
Combine pick handling and route walking time.
Method and input definitions
Base time = pick count × handling seconds per pick + route meters ÷ walking meters per second. Estimated duration = base time × (1 + buffer percent ÷ 100). Route distance should represent the full walking path, including return travel if applicable.
Worked example
For 40 picks at 12 seconds each, a 600 m route at 1.2 m/s, and a 10% buffer, base time is 480 + 500 = 980 seconds and buffered time is 980 × 1.10 = 1,078 seconds, or 17 minutes 58 seconds.
Assumptions and limits
The route length and buffer are supplied by the user. The estimate does not optimize paths, model stairs or load weight, or assert a safe/standard walking speed.
Inputs are bounded to finite values shown in the form. Displayed results are rounded for readability (probability percentages and proportion fractions to four, other measures to two decimal places); whole-count outputs remain exact. A changed field clears a prior result so an outdated estimate is not presented as current.
