Loyalty Reward Liability Planner
Convert outstanding reward face value into an expected redemption scenario. Redemption and fulfillment percentages are editable assumptions; this page does not set an accounting liability.
Method and assumptions
Expected redeemed face value = outstanding face value × entered redemption rate. Expected cash cost = redeemed face value × entered fulfillment-cost share. The full face value is shown separately as a ceiling; estimated unredeemed value is face value minus expected redemption.
Worked example
For $100 of outstanding rewards, a 60% expected redemption rate gives $60 expected redeemed face value. If fulfillment costs 80% of face value, expected cash cost is $48; the full face-value ceiling is $100 and estimated unredeemed value is $40.
How to use the result
Use scenarios from your own program data to size a planning range. Redemption timing, breakage treatment, accounting recognition, reward restrictions, and actual fulfillment costs are not determined here.
Input meanings and limits
- Outstanding reward face value: Value represented by currently outstanding rewards.
- Expected redemption rate: Your estimate of the portion likely to be redeemed.
- Cash fulfillment cost as share of face value: Your estimate of delivery or product cost per redeemed dollar.
Inputs accept finite, nonnegative values in the displayed ranges; percentages are bounded to 0–100% (with 99.99% maximum where division by the remaining share is used), and whole-unit or month fields require integers. Currency figures are shown in USD for convenience; enter values in one consistent currency. This is a planning worksheet, not financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice.
