Marketplace Fee Price Floor Calculator
Set a minimum listing price from the amount you want left after item cost and seller fees. Compare the floor with a current asking price before publishing a listing.
Method and assumptions
Minimum price = (desired net + per-item cost + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − percentage fee rate). Current-price net = asking price × (1 − fee rate) − fixed fee − item cost. The percentage fee is assumed to apply to the full price; shipping, discounts, refunds, taxes, and other charges are excluded.
Worked example
With a $25 target, $8 item cost, 12% fee, $0.50 fixed fee, and a $35 current price, the floor is ($25 + $8 + $0.50) ÷ 0.88 = $38.07. The current price leaves $22.30, so it is $3.07 below the target floor.
How to use the result
Use the floor as a pricing constraint, not a promise of profit. Add any packaging, labor, shipping subsidy, or overhead you want covered to the per-item cost before relying on the result.
Input meanings and limits
- Desired amount left after costs and fees: Your per-item target after the entered costs.
- Item cost per sale: Use your own cost basis; no tax or overhead is inferred.
- Marketplace fee rate: Enter the combined percentage fee charged on the sale price.
- Fixed fee per order: Include a fixed transaction amount if applicable.
- Current asking price: Used only to show estimated net at the price you are considering.
Inputs accept finite, nonnegative values in the displayed ranges; percentages are bounded to 0–100% (with 99.99% maximum where division by the remaining share is used), and whole-unit or month fields require integers. Currency figures are shown in USD for convenience; enter values in one consistent currency. This is a planning worksheet, not financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice.
