Weekly Paycheck Calculator With Overtime and Deductions
Build a weekly estimate from your hours each day, then see how overtime and separate deductions affect your take-home pay.
How this calculator helps
Enter hours for each day to see how a long week changes your gross pay and estimated take-home. The calculator separates regular earnings, overtime earnings, pre-tax deductions, estimated withholding, and after-tax deductions so you can see what is driving the result.
Formula: Regular hours = the smaller of total hours and your overtime threshold. Overtime hours = hours above that threshold. Estimated withholding is applied to gross pay after pre-tax deductions; after-tax deductions are subtracted afterward.
Assumptions: The overtime threshold and multiplier are editable planning assumptions, not a determination of legal overtime eligibility. The withholding percentage is supplied by you; this tool does not calculate taxes or model state, local, or individual tax rules.
Worked example: At $28 per hour, 40 regular hours and 5 overtime hours at 1.5x produce $1,330 gross. With $100 in pre-tax deductions, 20% estimated withholding on the remaining $1,230, and $25 after-tax deductions, estimated weekly take-home is $959.
- Hourly rate: Your base pay before deductions.
- Hours by day: The schedule used to total weekly hours.
- Pre-tax deductions: Weekly deductions you want removed before applying your estimated withholding rate.
- After-tax deductions: Weekly deductions subtracted after estimated withholding.
What the result means
Regular earnings use the hours up to the threshold you entered. Hours above it are multiplied by your overtime rate. The withholding estimate is then calculated on gross pay after pre-tax deductions, and after-tax deductions are removed last.
Monthly and annual figures assume the same weekly schedule and deductions repeat for 52 weeks; the monthly figure is annual take-home divided by 12. Actual payroll may use different overtime rules, withholding calculations, benefit timing, and workweek definitions. Check your pay stub and local requirements for exact figures.

Frequently asked questions
- How is weekly overtime estimated? The calculator totals the seven daily entries and applies the multiplier to hours above your chosen weekly threshold. Actual overtime eligibility and calculation rules depend on your location, job, and defined workweek.
- What counts as a pre-tax deduction? Common examples include eligible retirement contributions or health premiums. Use the amount and treatment shown by your payroll provider; not every deduction is treated the same for tax purposes.
- Is the withholding rate a tax calculation? No. It is a percentage you provide to approximate withholding. This tool does not calculate federal, state, or local taxes.
- Why can my paycheck differ? Pay frequency, benefit timing, tax elections, local rules, rounding, and overtime policies can all change an actual pay stub.
