Hydroponic Stock Dilution Calculator
Use concentration and final-volume arithmetic to calculate a stock-solution fraction and carrier-water volume.
How to use this estimate
This is a dilution calculation only, not a nutrient recipe, dosage, or plant recommendation. Concentrations must use the same units and refer to compatible concentration measures. It assumes the stock concentration is known, volumes are additive, and the desired concentration does not exceed the stock.
Method
Stock volume = target concentration × final volume / stock concentration. Carrier volume = final volume - stock volume. This is the concentration-volume conservation equation C₁V₁ = C₂V₂.
Worked example
Diluting measured 1,000-unit/L stock to a user-selected 100 units/L in 20 L calculates 2 L stock plus 18 L carrier water. This is dilution arithmetic, not a nutrient recommendation.
Assumptions and supported inputs
Use measured dimensions and the listed field ranges. Values outside those bounds, missing entries, non-finite numbers, and fractional counts where a whole number is required are rejected. Displayed results are rounded to two decimal places; internal calculations retain full precision. This is a planning estimate, not a substitute for an on-site layout, product instructions, or a qualified trade decision where applicable.
