Cross-Dock Unit Flow Reconciliation Calculator
What units remain after staged outbound allocation, known damage and existing carryover are reconciled?
Method, formula and assumptions
Usable available = opening carryover + receipts - quarantined inbound. Ending carryover and outbound shortfall are the positive parts of available - allocation and its inverse. Compare ending carryover with staging capacity.
Input definitions and supported units
- Units carried into shift: Whole-number count, from 0 to 1000000000; zero is supported where the stated method permits it.
- Units received this shift: Whole-number count, from 0 to 1000000000; zero is supported where the stated method permits it.
- Inbound units quarantined: Whole-number count, from 0 to 1000000000; zero is supported where the stated method permits it.
- Outbound allocated units: Whole-number count, from 0 to 1000000000; zero is supported where the stated method permits it.
- Staging capacity (units): Whole-number count, from 0 to 1000000000; zero is supported where the stated method permits it.
Worked example with answer
50 carried plus 1,000 inbound minus 20 quarantined gives 1,030 usable units. Allocating 900 leaves 130, no outbound shortfall and 70 units margin against 200 staging capacity.
How to use the results
This is end-of-shift quantity reconciliation. It does not estimate peak staging because inbound/outbound timing within the shift is not entered.
Results retain full precision internally and display up to four decimal places. Very small nonzero results use scientific notation rather than appearing as zero. Check the labels before comparing values across units.
Limitations and references
Count quarantine outside usable staging capacity consistently. SKU compatibility, timing, labor, loading sequence and loss are not simulated.
The method is a self-contained arithmetic, geometric or explicitly stated mathematical model. There are no imported tariffs, empirical presets or equipment specifications; measured values and allowances must come from your own process.
